JOB PURPOSE
Reporting to the Head of PMO, the PMO Lead is responsible for supporting and leading PMO initiatives, including coordination of activities for the Project Management Office, as well as coordinating or leading small-scale projects or work packages.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work on PMO initiatives to support the growth and continuous improvement efforts of the PMO i.e. the development and rollout of key templates, processes, procedures, tools and metrics
- Understand, apply and educate others on the process and templates published by the PMO
- Build strong relationships with each business area, providing ongoing support to ensure standards are met, processes are followed, and any concerns are addressed
- Oversee the Master Project Portfolio, capturing ongoing updates, actively monitoring, engaging with the various stakeholders, resolving/escalating issues, or concerns, and driving improvements to the process
- Prepare and distribute portfolio reporting and metrics to senior executives
- Manage end to end Intake process for new business initiatives, ensuring quality completion of forms and processes understood and followed
- Manage the Master Lesson Learned Portfolio, including the transfer of lessons to the owner, tracking their status, and overseeing their completion, as well as generating and communicating metrics for management
- Manage the PMO Site ensuring information and documents stay current and relevant
- Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance productivity, effectiveness, and operational efficiency. Investigate and implement automation of processes, as needed
- Perform as a Coordinator or Lead and deliver small scale projects or work packages, ensuring deliverables meet standards for quality, scope and schedule
- Support the day to day operational/team related activities, queries, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Work Experience
- Post-Secondary degree
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a project environment, preferably in financial services
- Proven experience with Project Management best practices, tools and processes
- Experience managing small scale projects or work packages
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong knowledge of the project lifecycle and different methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, etc.)
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, PPT, Word, Visio, Project, SharePoint/Teams)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentations skills
- Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills
