We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Receptionist in the Non-Profit sector, located in Toronto, Ontario. This role involves managing the front desk, processing visitor inquiries, and maintaining an organized and well-stocked reception area.
Responsibilities:
• Greet and assist visitors upon their arrival at the office, directing them to the relevant office or person
• Manage incoming phone calls, screening and forwarding them as necessary
• Keep the reception area tidy and ensure that all necessary stationery and materials such as pens, forms and brochures are readily available
• Provide accurate information to visitors both in-person and via phone/email
• Handle daily mail/deliveries, receiving, sorting and distributing them appropriately
• Operate office equipment such as fax machines and printers
• Use Microsoft Office to perform various administrative tasks
• Provide excellent customer service, answering inbound calls and directing phone calls as needed
• Maintain a proactive attitude in resolving issues and inquiries.
• Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience in a receptionist role or similar
• Proficient in Receptionist Duties such as greeting visitors, handling correspondence, and managing office supplies
• Strong knowledge and experience in using MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on professional, friendly communication and a commitment to providing a positive experience for all visitors and colleagues
• Experience in answering inbound calls, with the ability to manage multiple lines while maintaining composure and professionalism
• Ability to direct phone calls to the appropriate parties in a timely and efficient manner
• Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and work effectively with team members at all levels within the organization
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must have a strong work ethic and be self-motivated
• Experience in the charity sector or non-profit organizations is a plus.
