About the role
GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY AND SUMMARY:
We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our dynamic Finance team. This role will be a crucial addition to our team as our company continues to expand. You will collaborate closely with our bookkeeper, payroll, Controller, and CFO to support essential operational and financial processes that enable 8Twelve's continued growth.
Requirements
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process and record invoices and payments accurately and on time.
- Maintain and update vendor files.
- Handle vendor inquiries and resolve any discrepancies in invoices and payments. - Prepare and perform check runs.
- Post transactions to journals, ledgers, and other records.
- Assist in month-end closing activities.
- Contribute to improving the efficiency of our processes.
- Assist with special projects, as necessary.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- A proactive self-starter with a positive attitude, excellent organizational and analytical skills, the ability to manage multiple demands, strong time management skills, and a sharp attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be computer-literate and have proficient knowledge of MS Excel and MS PowerPoint. - Experience using Xero and Quickbooks.
- Ability to develop constructive relationships, in order to collaborate with other departments in the Corporate office, ensuring smooth and timely collection of information required for various accounting and operational purposes.
- Must be organized and detail-oriented.
EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION:
Candidate should have a minimum of two years experience in a computerized accounting environment. Experience in Mortgage and Lending Finance would be an asset.
