Are you customer service oriented with courtesy and good judgement? Do you have experience providing administrative support and working with the public? If so, we want you on our Protective Services team

As the Administrative Assistant, you will be responsible for support services relative to the day-to-day operation of Protective Services while assisting the Manager, Protective Services with the completion of activities and projects to support the mandate of the Department.

You will:

  1. Provide excellent customer service:
  • Respond to front counter, telephone and e-mail inquiries, complaints and concerns in a timely manner.
  • Track service requests from the public.
  • Respond to requests for information.
  1. Provide administrative support to the Protective Services including:
  • Assist with preparing correspondence and reports.
  • Meeting preparation including agendas, meeting packages, creating power point presentations and taking minutes.
  • Data entry.
  • Administer and maintain record keeping for training and incident reports.
  • Assist with processing account receivables and payables.
  1. Provide administrative support to the Manager, Protective Services including:
  • Records management.
  • GL Code invoices.
  • Monthly reconciliation of purchase card entries.
  • Track service requests related to RDCO Protective Services.
  1. Other duties as assigned.

To be successful in this position you will have a Certificate in Office Administration, 1 year experience in a related position, strong proficiency in MS office and a Valid BC Driver's license. This position also requires the incumbent to have a Police Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Query. In addition, you will be a team player, have strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to deliver excellent customer service.

This is a 3-month term CUPE 338 position that works Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and pays $32.61 per hour plus 15% in lieu of benefits.
