As a Payroll Administrator (PA), you will be responsible for the preparation and processing of documentation required in the administration of all facets of the payroll function. Primary duties include:

Process pay on a bi-weekly and year-end basis. Audit and problem solve anomalies by making necessary adjustments and communicating these changes to clients and invested parties as required. Comply with the provisions of the salary continuance plans such as Sickness and Accident, Homewood Health, Workers Compensation and paid leaves including health-related portion for maternity leaves. Correct shortfalls and discrepancies and pay the affected employees correctly and on time via Pay Adjustment; administer general deductions including union dues, United Way, maintenance enforcement, income taxes and other garnishments. Calculate and process forms related to Canada Pension Plan (CPP) and issue Record of Employments (ROEs) to Service Canada. Set up Group RRSPs, self-funded leaves, relocation expenses and other taxable benefits. Calculate and process finals, retirements, resignations, and cancelled cheques. Maintain and process attendance records for payroll. Act as the first point of contact in troubleshooting any payroll related matters. Provide coverage for planned or unplanned absences. Qualifications  A Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation and at least 3 years of directly related payroll experience is required. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams). Experience with PeopleSoft Human Capital Management (HCM) will be considered an asset. Previous experience working in a large organization in a multi-union environment will be an asset. Success in this position requires the following competencies:Sound problem solving ability to identify pay issues, make recommendations, and collaborate and communicate on resolutions.Strong mathematical, reading, analytical, and accounting skills.Well-developed organizational skills to manage a diverse and high-volume workload (ability to plan, prioritize, schedule, multi-task, track and meet deadlines).Flexibility and adaptability to adjust to changing priorities and demands in a fast-paced environment.Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate ides to all staff in a clear and concise manner.A high attention to detail, the ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively in a team setting.A self-starter and motivated individual.
