Annual Salary Range: $26.22 - $32.59 per hour depending on qualifications

Purpose of Position

The Human Resources Administrative Support role is responsible for assisting the Human Resources department with a variety of administrative support functions. This includes filing, data entry, posting employment opportunities, following up on outstanding paperwork, assisting with the preparation of letters, etc

Key Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Receives and distributes mail. Assists with the maintenance of the filing system. Assists with the posting of employment opportunities using recruitment software and/or recruitment platforms. Follows-up on any outstanding paperwork for new employees. Assists with data entry. Assists with the preparation of letters. Assists with the collection, organizing, and maintenance of various departmental records and information. Photocopies and distributes materials as required. Assists with the scheduling and testing of applicants on various software applications. Participates in the Educational Assistant placement process. Onboarding of new lunch program supervisors and crossing guards. Provides back-up support to the Receptionist as needed. Performs other duties as may be assigned to support the efficient operation of the Department. 

Skills and Qualifications

Skill and Knowledge – Required:

Grade 12 education or GED and administrative training or equivalent combination of skills and experience. Proficiency with Microsoft office (Word, Excel and Outlook). Minimum typing speed of 50 wpm. Ability to maintain discretion with respect to sensitive or confidential information. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure, multi-task and prioritize. Well-developed customer service skills. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Skill and Knowledge – Desired:

Prior experience in an educational environment.

Work is in an office environment. May require long periods at a desk, standing for extended periods of time, and time in front of a computer.
