New Directions is a social service agency offering a wide range of resources and services that foster people’s hopes and dreams and their communities.

The **Resource Administrator** works as part of the Recruitment team, providing a range of technical and administrative support to New Directions. The Administrator is responsible for ensuring data is collected, documented, entered, and maintained with accuracy. This role supports the team in organizing, formatting and standardizing letter templates, forms, policies, and procedures, and may act as a back-up to others on the Recruitment Team during extended absences.

The role includes the following responsibilities (but are not limited to):

- Provides support to the Recruitment team in a variety of related administrative functions and may assist with specific selection functions (e.g. conducting reference checks) as required.
- Processes all employment checks for staff and service providers - including processing all forms, updating a database, obtaining appropriate approvals, and following up on outstanding information.
- Compiles and tracks documentation related to the selection and hiring processes and finalizes documentation with established templates.
- Supports the Recruitment team to ensure that employee inquiries are escalated and addressed in a timely manner.
- Supports a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and assisting in updates for Recruitment processes, procedures, and projects.
- Performs a variety of data entry, analysis, and reporting functions.
- Throughout all tasks, ensures compliance with Employment Standards, Immigration & Citizenship, and various Permits.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in an administrative role, preferably within the area of Human Resources.
- Post-secondary education (degree or diploma) in Human Resource or Business Administration (or a related field) from a recognized post-secondary institution. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Excellent customer service abilities.
- Sensitivity to employee concerns and understanding the importance of confidentiality.
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
- Intermediate proficiency in:

- Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint,
- Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), and
- HR Information Systems (HRIS/HRMS).
- Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) is considered an asset.
