We work closely with industry to advance and adapt our programming to ensure our graduates have the skills to succeed. 

Olds College is seeking students to work as peer tutors in the Learning Commons (library) in all subject areas during the 2024-2025 school year. Please note: this position is only available to students currently enrolled in Olds College Programming during the 2024/25 academic year

Responsibilities of the peer tutor include meeting with student(s) to assist with their learning and understanding of course content, concepts and comprehension. Peer tutoring may occur on a one-on-one, or small group basis, as required. Additionally, peer tutors are required to complete reporting/data collection regarding tutoring hours. Scheduling is based on student availability and may include day and/or evening hours.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated mastery in a subject area or course, as well as a recommendation from an instructor. Please include the name of the recommending instructor in your references on your resume.  The candidates will report to the Manager, Student Experience and Educational Design, but may also collaborate with the instructor(s) from time-to-time. The ideal candidate(s) will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, excellent organizational abilities, proficiency in both MS Office and Google suite of apps, as well as the willingness to work as a member of a team. Training is provided. The technology and connectivity to tutor via video conferencing is required for virtual tutoring. 

Peer Tutors will also act ethically, openly, honestly, and respectfully to build and maintain an environment of trust, safety and well-being.
