**The Opportunity - Admissions Officer (AUPE Student Services Officer)**:

Admissions Officers work alongside the recruitment team to assist with conversion efforts, including assisting with prospective student and applicant webinars, attending admission events, participating in on-campus recruitment initiatives, and contributing to the recruitment and admissions communication plan.
In alignment with the Growing 2025 Strategic Plan, this role supports College enrolment objectives, while adhering to relevant admission policies, guidelines, and procedures. Admissions Officers implement and monitor processes for continuous improvement in all facets of the admissions cycle, and report any issues to the Manager in a timely manner.
**Key Job Functions**:
- Support students with problem-solving, solution finding and barrier identification/removal
- Make admissions decisions and communicate those decisions to applicants in a friendly and professional manner
- Communicate and build relationships with applicants to help them navigate the admissions process and to convert those applicants into registered Olds College students
- Maintain accurate student records in the Banner Student Information System and track applicant progression through the admissions process
- Develop and implement strategies along with other members of the Recruitment and Admissions team to increase qualified applicants and conversion
- Ensure a thorough knowledge of applicable College policies
- Understand academic programs to effectively communicate and provide guidance and admission decisions
- Liaise with faculty, departments, students, parents, agents, counselors, and other public agencies to implement admissions strategies
- Assist with Olds College recruitment activities and on-campus events as required
- Contribute to the development of marketing and communication materials to promote the college and its programs as required
- May be required to work with the Olds College International Student Experience Coordinator to monitor study permit conversion trends and implement strategies to maximize conversion
- Other duties as assigned or required
**Education/Experience/Skills/Knowledge Required**:
- A post-secondary degree in a related field with three or more years of recent and relevant experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and interact with empathy, understanding, and respect of diverse and divergent perspectives, behaviours, and experiences.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to navigate difficult and complex conversations with applicants, students, faculty, and staff.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment; a creative and resourceful problem solver
- Ability to prioritize and work effectively within tight timelines and competing priorities.
- Friendly and energetic with excellent communication skills
- Prior experience working with a Student Information or CRM (e.g. Banner) is considered an asset.
- Demonstrate excellent computer skills and proficiency with statistics
- From time to time, travel may be required to meet with students and stakeholders
**Conditions of Employment**:
- Current Criminal Reference check that is free of any offenses.
- A valid and unrestricted driver’s license.
- This position may be required to work evenings and weekends.
- This position is expected to be knowledgeable of and follow College policies
- Preference given to Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident.
