Job Description

OBJECTIVE OF POSITION

We are seeking a creative, highly organized Corporate Events Lead to help us manage & execute events that generate brand awareness, build business relationships, and boost employee morale. You will be responsible for end-to-end event management, including conceptualizing ideas for the events, creating, and enforcing budgets, negotiating with suppliers, coordinating, communicating with clients, and ultimately ensuring that each event is flawlessly executed.

Execution under pressure – you thrive in chaos. Ability to create buy-in – you are passionate, professional, and convincing. Agile and efficient – you can pivot quickly and get a lot done in a day. Planning & logistics – you can map out an event and ensure everything is accounted for. The details matter – no detail is too small. Constant improvement and innovation – you are of the mindset, “How can this be better?” Solution-driven – nothing is impossible and everything has a solution.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

You will be responsible for managing:

Internal Events: Heart Month, Staff BBQ, Service Awards, Christmas, 35th Anniversary Events, Halloween External Events: golf tournaments, galas, association events Be an influencer for any additional events and manage all sponsorships and donations. Company award submissions Assist Marketing Manager with tradeshows. Progression for this role includes ownership of tradeshows and buying group events.

Event Management

Meet with event stakeholders to gain an understanding of the event's purpose and goals Outline the scope of the event, including time, date, location, and budget Manage the budget and ensure the event stays within guidelines; ensure vendors are paid Research vendors and make selections based on creativity, quality, and cost Ensure that the day of logistics is scheduled, organized, and executed Develop content for event materials and work with a graphic designer to produce Hire personnel as needed across all functions of an event (registration, set up, catering, audio/visual, etc.) Track all event costs, details, and assets End-to-end event management for all assigned events

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION

Degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Communications, Communications Design, or Business. Event planning accreditation is an asset.

EXPERIENCE / CAPABILITIES

A minimum of 4 years experience in an event-focused role. Good computer skills with programs such as MS PowerPoint, Excel, and MailChimp. Willingness to work longer hours and on weekends and public holidays as needed. Travel is required for some events.
