**The Opportunity**

**Position**: Communications and Event Coordinator

**Reports to**: CEO

**Location & Work Arrangement**: Edmonton, hybrid with at least 2 days/week in-office

**Salary**: $34-$42/hr, salary will be determined by qualifications and experience

We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented _**Communications and Event Coordinator**_ to join our team. This role is perfect for a communications professional with strong project management skills who thrives in a dynamic environment and can successfully juggle multiple tasks. Reporting directly to the CEO, the _**Communications and Event Coordinator**_ will be responsible for developing and executing the ASR communication strategy, managing digital and social media content, and coordinating exciting continuing medical education events throughout the year.

**Key Responsibilities**

**1. Communications**
- Strategy & Planning: Develop, execute, and optimize a comprehensive communications strategy to enhance organizational visibility and engagement.
- Content Creation: Generate, curate, and manage digital content for our website, internal SharePoint portal, newsletters, and social media channels.
- Website Management: Maintain and update ASR website with current information, resources, and events to enhance member and public engagement.

**2. Event Coordination**
- Event Calendar Management: Develop and maintain a comprehensive calendar of events for timely planning, promotion, and execution.
- CME Events & Annual Conference: Plan and execute CME events and the annual scientific conference, effectively managing timelines and logistics to ensure successful outcomes.
- Marketing & Promotion: Develop and implement promotional materials and campaigns to drive strong attendance and engagement at events through effective communication strategies.

**Qualifications**
- Event Planning: Proven experience in planning, organizing, and executing successful events.
- Attention to Detail: Flexible and creative with a meticulous approach to details.
- Time Management: Strong ability to manage time effectively while balancing multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Initiative: Capable of working independently and taking charge to drive success.
- Project Management & Communication: Excellent project management skills complemented by strong oral and written communication abilities.
- Content Development: Exceptional writing skills with experience in creating engaging content for various platforms.
- Technical Proficiency: Skilled in SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite, Squarespace and social media platforms.

**Education**:
Training in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Event Management, or a related field.

**Experience**:
Minimum of 3-5 years in a communications, public relations, or event coordination role; experience in healthcare or CME event planning is a plus.

Pay: $34.00-$42.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 per week
