Reporting to the Director of HR Services, the Payroll & Benefits Specialist is responsible for actively contributing to the success of the HR Services Team by administering and supporting the payroll and benefits programs for Reliance’s 2200 Team Members across Canada.

What will you do?
• Learn and grow as an important part of a team that cares about Reliance and its customers.
• Responsible for the timely and accurate payroll for multiple pay groups with multiple pay cycles using Ceridian Dayforce HCM
• Manage the payroll process in a fast-paced environment with multiple Collective Agreements, across multiple provinces using Ceridian’s Dayforce HCM platform
• Support Team Members and Managers in time entry and self-service updates and approvals using Dayforce
• Perform internal audits and timesheet review to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Ensure compliance with federal and provincial legislation and Collective Agreements
• Year end reconciliation and tax form processing
• Administer group retirement programs
• Deliver outstanding customer service on internal and external inquiries
• Actively participate in projects and process improvement efforts where required

What do you bring?

• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Human Resources and equivalent work experience
• Minimum 3 years of full cycle payroll processing in a unionized or complex payroll environment is required
• Experience with HRIS System required; Ceridian Dayforce HCM knowledge is preferred
• Knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation and basic accounting principles
• Possess a Canadian Payroll Association PCP designation
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to maintain accuracy and be focused on detail in a growing, fast paced and highly confidential environment
• Excellent time management skills and ability to work within tight deadlines
• Ability to work independently and as part of a high performing team
