**Payroll & Benefits Specialist**

**Toronto, ON**

**Salary Range**:$70,000 - $85,000/yr

**About the Role**:
- Provide full cycle payroll processing across Canada, validation, and analysis for employees in a multi-frequency, multi-provincial payroll environment including Quebec.- Manage the processing of off-cycle pay and terminations, prepare ROEs and facilitate the creation of payments.-
- Administer Group insurance benefit and GRSP: enrollment, coverage changes and termination, billing reconciliation and providing information to employees on payroll and benefits matters.- Responsible for the day-to-day benefit administration of the benefit program implementation and enhancement efforts.- Work collaboratively with the HR team to ensure benefit payments, deductions and contributions are processed timely and accurately.- Work collaboratively with HR on matters related to leaves of absences.- Timely processing of plan member enrollments, terminations, and changes.- Reconciliation of benefit deductions and payments.- Input and maintain HRIS data.- Responsible for year-end reconciliations and preparation of T4s and RL1s, as well as provincial medical plans and EHT.- Monthly, annual, and ad hoc reporting for payroll, benefits and GRSP contributions.- Responds and/or research payroll and benefit inquiries from employees and managers in a timely manner.- Keep current with changes to Federal and Provincial legislation across the country.- Perform other HR duties as required.

**This role is for you if you have**:
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience in full cycle payroll processing and benefits administration- PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) designation is required- Experience using the UKG Pro system and Canada Life GroupNet is an asset- Experience processing multi province payrolls including Quebec- Proficient knowledge of Excel and Outlook.- Knowledge of employment standards- Knowledge of related government legislation- Knowledge of payroll-related tax information & remittances (payroll source deductions, EHT etc.)- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong mathematical and analytical proficiency
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral
- Quick adaptability to demanding situations
- Proven ability to multitask and problem solve in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
- Demonstrated ability to work with a team collaboratively as well as independently
- Displays an enthusiastic, positive, and eager to learn attitude
- Portrays professionalism and excellent customer service skills
