We are a busy, established Chiropractic practice in Whitby.We are looking for a dynamic person with the following qualities to join our team.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION The Appointment Clerk/Medical Receptionist performs avariety of tasks to the clinic. They are the first contact by the prospective patient and theclinic with the goal of fostering an environment which promotes patient comfort andtrust. Essential duties include providing excellent customer/patient services via phone andin person. The position is considered a crucial link between the patient and the caredelivered by the Practitioners. The incumbent must work collaboratively with all Clinicalservices staff and patients exhibiting flexibility and a “can do” attitude. The position mustexemplify the core values and mission of the organization, always exercising the utmostdiscretion, diplomacy and tact in patient/staff interactions.
Specific Responsibilities Answers the phone while maintaining a polite, consistent phone manner usingproper telephone etiquette while providing information regarding our serviceswhen needed Register and maintain patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updatingpersonal and financial information Call patients daily to confirm next day’s appointment as well as calling patientswho have missed their appointments and calling back all patients who havecancelled to re-book for another day Maintain a log of all patients to make sure they have re-booked for their nextappointment Calling insurance companies on behalf of the patients to find out their coveragefor our services Informs patient of any existing balance noted in computer and request patient beprepared for any payment due at time of visit. Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, collating,faxing etc. Receiving and sorting daily mail/deliveries/couriers Receive payments, record receipts for services and handle and reconcile all pettycash and insurance payments Maintains patient waiting areas and front-desk areas in a manner that is organizedand neat. Keeps medical office supplies adequately stocked by anticipating inventory needs,placing orders, and monitoring office equipment
Qualifications and experience Excellent talent to interact with people in a positive and courteous manner whenresponding to inquiries by patients, prospective patients, and visitors Ability to be resourceful and proactive in dealing with issues that may arise Ability to organize, multitask, prioritize and work under pressure withoutcompromising on quality Must have experience with billing procedures for private health insurance, TelusHealth Portal, HCAI, and WSIB. Must have experience with Universal software or equivalent Must be able to work the following hours: Mon & Wed 9:00am- 6:30pm and Fri 9:00am - 2:00pm. Hours will increase shortly.Required education: Diploma/CertificateRequired experience: Medical Receptionist: 2yearsAPPLY TODAY. Email inquiries only.
