Shift is 8:15 AM to 5:30 PM Monday to Friday, Full time.

At Whitby Vision Care, our Reception Team members are experts in customer care providing the best in class customer service as the first patient contact with our office.

In this role you will be responsible for answering the phone, completing outside referrals, triaging patients to the appropriate areas of the office, processing contact lens orders, the check in and check out process, and selling over the counter pharmaceuticals.

Our front end receptionists are friendly, motivated and always embody our company core values in every customer interaction.

You will be part of a fast paced team that together represents the organization and image of Whitby Vision Care in a professional and positive manner.

Your Responsibilities:

- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience
- Answer phone calls and schedule appointments
- Conduct OCT, visual fields and Retinal imaging on patients
- Verify patient insurance information and collect necessary paperwork
- Maintain patient records and update electronic medical records (EMR) system
- Assist with billing and insurance claims processing
- Coordinate referrals to specialists and follow-up appointments
- Manage front desk operations and ensure a clean and organized reception area
- Provide administrative support to healthcare providers as needed

**Experience**:

- Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar administrative role preferred
- Familiarity with ocular health or medical office procedures and terminology
- Knowledge of OHIP billing codes for Optometrists
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle patient inquiries and concerns
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage patient records and appointments
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
