Position Title: Office Manager

Reports To: General Manager & CEO

Department: Administration / Accounts Receivable / Human Resources

Position Summary:

The Office Manager is a key administrative leader at the Best Western Brantford Hotel & Conference Centre, overseeing Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and essential HR and office operations. The role supports 80–90 employees, ensures compliance with company policies and employment standards, and provides direct support to the General Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable

  • Manage all A/R functions: invoicing, statements, collections, and reconciliation.
  • Conduct credit checks and set up direct billing accounts.
  • Reconcile daily deposits for front desk, restaurant, and banquets.
  • Manage bar float and cash/coin supply for front desk.

Payroll

  • Process bi-weekly payroll using Payworks for approximately 80 employees.
  • Review timesheets, gratuity payouts, expense reimbursements, and payroll adjustments.
  • Administer benefits, RRSP programs, and monthly remittances; prepare ROEs and T4s.
  • Ensure compliance with CRA and Ontario payroll legislation.
  • Handle UFCW deductions/remittances and manage WSIB and CRA payroll-related inquiries.

Human Resources

  • Support hiring, onboarding, and employee file maintenance.
  • Enroll staff in benefits/RRSPs and ensure legislative and privacy compliance.
  • Assist with performance documentation and disciplinary tracking.
  • Track employee/guest incidents and submit WSIB Form 7 as required.

General Administration

  • Provide administrative and project support to the General Manager.
  • Offer guidance to supervisors and ensure consistent office processes.
  • Maintain updated policies, procedures, and job descriptions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in payroll, A/R, or office administration (hospitality preferred).
  • Strong skills in Payworks, Visual Matrix, and MS Office.
  • Experience with unionized workplaces an asset.
  • High accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00-$52,000.00 per year
