Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and bilingual Cantonese/Mandarin Speaking Home Support Worker to provide essential in-home care and support to clients with diverse needs. This role involves assisting with daily activities, ensuring safety, and promoting well-being within a respectful and culturally sensitive environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in senior care, home health, or community care settings, along with strong communication skills in Cantonese and Mandarin. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in clients' lives while working in a supportive team environment.

Duties

  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
  • Provide medication administration and monitor vital signs in accordance with care plans
  • Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences
  • Support clients with memory care, dementia, Alzheimer's, and other cognitive impairments through patient observation and engagement
  • Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and perform heavy lifting when necessary to ensure safe transfers
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities while adhering to HIPAA regulations
  • Perform light cleaning and home organization tasks to promote a safe living environment
  • Observe and report changes in patient condition or behavior promptly to healthcare professionals
  • Assist with transportation or accompany clients to appointments as needed
  • Follow all safety protocols including CPR and first aid procedures

Skills

  • Fluency in Cantonese and Mandarin, both spoken and written
  • Experience working with seniors, people with developmental disabilities, autism, or other special needs
  • Knowledge of assisted living, long-term care, hospice, or home health environments
  • Strong patient observation skills and ability to monitor vital signs effectively
  • Familiarity with care plans, medication administration, Alzheimer's/dementia/memory care techniques
  • Ability to perform CPR and first aid confidently; CPR certification preferred
  • Compassionate caregiving approach with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team setting
  • Physical ability for heavy lifting and assisting with mobility; experience using resident lifts is a plus
  • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and confidentiality standards in healthcare settings
