Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Spanish-speaking Home Support Worker to provide essential care and support to individuals in their homes. The ideal candidate will have experience in patient care and a strong understanding of the unique needs of clients, including those with developmental disabilities, dementia, or Alzheimer's. This role requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients through compassionate assistance and support.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
  • Provide patient observation and monitoring to ensure safety and well-being.
  • Support clients with mobility needs, including the use of Hoyer lifts when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping tasks.
  • Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and assist with care plans under the guidance of healthcare professionals.
  • Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation.
  • Document vital signs and any changes in client condition while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance client comfort and well-being.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Spanish is required for effective communication with clients.
  • Previous experience in home health, assisted living, or long-term care settings is preferred.
  • Knowledge of patient care techniques including CPR, First Aid, and vital sign monitoring.
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or memory care needs is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed for client assistance.
  • Familiarity with caregiving responsibilities including meal preparation, cleaning, and direct support services.
