Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Arabic Speaking Home Support Worker to provide in-home care and assistance to clients with diverse needs. This role involves supporting individuals in their daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting independence within a respectful and culturally sensitive environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in home and community care, assisted living, or long-term care settings, with a strong focus on patient-centered support. Fluency in Arabic is essential to effectively communicate with clients and their families. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those requiring support due to aging, disabilities, or health conditions.

Duties

  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
  • Provide medication reminders and assist with medication administration following care plans
  • Support clients with meal preparation, cooking, and nutritional needs while respecting dietary restrictions
  • Monitor vital signs and observe patient condition for any changes or concerns
  • Implement patient care plans tailored to individual needs, including dementia, Alzheimer's, autism, or other developmental disabilities
  • Utilize safety equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts to assist with mobility and prevent injury
  • Maintain accurate documentation of care provided in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and maintaining a safe environment
  • Engage clients in social activities and provide companionship to promote mental well-being
  • Follow all protocols related to hospice care, home health standards, and infection control measures

Requirements

  • Fluency in Arabic is required; proficiency in English is preferred for effective communication with team members and healthcare providers
  • Prior experience in home & community care, assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care settings is highly desirable
  • Certifications such as First Aid, CPR, HIPAA compliance training are preferred; willingness to obtain necessary certifications if not already held
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, Alzheimer's disease, autism spectrum disorder, or other special needs is advantageous
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and assist with mobility using appropriate equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts
  • Strong patient observation skills and ability to monitor vital signs and overall health status
  • Compassionate attitude with excellent caregiving skills and patience for working with vulnerable populations
  • Knowledge of care plans, medication administration protocols, and social work principles related to senior and disability care
  • Valid driver's license may be preferred depending on client location; reliable transportation is advantageous
