Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Punjabi Speaking Home Support Worker to provide essential care and support to individuals in their homes. The ideal candidate will have experience in home and community care, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), and a strong understanding of patient care. This role requires effective communication skills in Punjabi and the ability to work with diverse populations, including seniors and individuals with developmental disabilities.

Duties

  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
  • Prepare meals and assist with meal planning according to dietary needs.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe living environment.
  • Monitor clients' health by observing vital signs and reporting any changes to healthcare professionals.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and assist with care plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Support clients with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
  • Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental stimulation and social interaction.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Skills

  • First aid and CPR certification are preferred.
  • Experience in group homes, assisted living, or nursing homes is highly desirable.
  • Strong patient observation skills for monitoring health changes effectively.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for patient assistance.
  • Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, and working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in cooking and meal preparation tailored to client needs.
  • Experience in direct support roles within home health or hospice care settings is an asset.
