Accounts Receivable Accountant

The Accounts Receivable Accountant will be responsible for managing daily financial transactions, maintaining accurate records of revenue and receivables, and supporting overall accounting operations. This role involves processing invoices, reconciling accounts, preparing reports and forecasts, and ensuring timely payments from clients. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.

This role is permanently onsite (5 days per week) at our Toronto office located at 255 Consumers Road, Suite 400, North York, ON M2J 1R4. We are looking to fill this position immediately.

Hours of Operation:

• Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (must be available to start at 8:00 AM)
• Month End: Extended hours until 7:00 PM (with a reduced schedule to follow)
• Saturdays: As required

Responsibilities

• Record daily transactions in the accounting system, including directs, trust deposits, and A/R receipts
• Reconcile and post entries from bank accounts on a daily basis
• Prepare and report revenue forecasts, billing estimates, and corresponding invoice estimates
• Generate and process client invoices and follow up on outstanding payments
• Conduct client ledger reconciliations and maintain accurate A/R records
• Reconcile intercompany accounts and ensure accuracy across entities
• Prepare and issue third-party client statements and trust payments
• Process Accounts Payable invoices and payments via e-transfer, cheque, or ACH
• Calculate and submit HST remittances
• Analyze closed debtor reports to identify missed billings or discrepancies
• Support annual audits by providing account ledgers, reconciliations, and supporting documentation

Requirements

• Proven experience in both Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
• Proficiency with Excel, Sage, and scheduling or accounting software
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent education and experience
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities
