The Financial Accountant is responsible for managing all aspects of the financial accounting reporting. This includes financial statement preparation, quarterly Board reporting, preparing for financial statement audits, transfer pricing and intercompany transactions, general ledger maintenance and reconciliations. This position would play a lead role in budget and forecast preparation, be involved in various new and ongoing projects and recommend efficiencies. Creation of monthly reports including cash flow statements, income statements and balance sheets
Development and documentation of processes and procedures ensuring financial controls are in place for the organization
Conduct variance analysis and participation in valuation exercises for the subsidiaries
Accomplishes finance and organizational mission by completing related results as needed
Financial Accounting and Analysis:
Produce various reconciliations
Lead the interim and year-end audits (i.e., preparation of financial statements and working papers) and liaise with the external financial statement Auditor
Become the key liaison between the business and the Finance department and ensuring monthly, quarterly and annual books are closed in a timely manner
Coach and mentor Financial Accountants/Finance clerks as required Assist the Finance Manager with risk mitigation, cross-training, and development
Assist with ad-hoc projects as required by Management
Degree or diploma in business, finance, accounting, or a related field  CPA designation required
~5+ years of full cycle financial accounting experience
~ S. taxation experience is an asset
~ Technical knowledge in Financial Accounting Standards
~ Knowledge of e-commerce banking applications e.g., General knowledge of GST/HST/QST tax rules
~ Team player with strong interpersonal, team-building and coaching skills
~ Knowledge of transfer pricing and Canadian ASPE (would be an asset)
~ Knowledge of royalty payments and/or music industry (would be an asset)
~ Strong software application skills, advanced MS Excel, MS Access, and
