Job Description
Overview
This role is responsible for ensuring financial accountability in the administration of multiple grant programs related to licensed childcare services. The position supports grant assessment, compliance, complaint management, and operational planning, while ensuring adherence to financial legislation, policies, and established procedures.

Key Responsibilities
1. Grant Assessment and Administration

  • Assess, evaluate, and recommend grant funding for licensed childcare programs.
  • Determine eligibility for grant funding in accordance with program criteria and guidelines.
  • Advise grant recipients when funding conditions are not met, clearly explaining required corrective actions.
  • Identify grant delivery or payment issues and recommend resolution options to management.
  • Ensure services are delivered in accordance with accepted practices, financial legislation, and Ministerial policies and procedures.

2. Complaint Management and Resolution

  • Manage and respond to complaints related to grant programs from grant recipients, early childhood educators, and families.
  • Provide advice, information, and directions to assist in resolving complaints appropriately.
  • Review incoming complaints and determine the most appropriate course of action, consulting senior team members as required.
  • Request and review additional information needed to investigate complaints.
  • Assist with complaint investigations and resolution processes.
  • Refer complaints to appropriate areas when necessary.

3. Operational and Team Support

  • Participate in the development of operational plans for the program area.
  • Delegate administrative tasks to administrative or temporary support staff as required.
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment.

Required Qualifications
Education

  • High School Diploma or GED (required).

  • Ability to learn quickly, problem solve, troubleshoot, and work both independently and collaboratively (minimum 2 years).

  • Experience with research, analysis, and problem-solving (minimum 2 years).
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders.
  • High degree of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to manage detailed information effectively.

  • Demonstrated experience engaging directly with business or government clients, including explaining complex information clearly and effectively (minimum 2 years).

  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite tools (minimum 3 years).
  • Relevant experience in a role similar to this position, with duties applicable to grant administration, financial accountability, or program support (minimum 3 years).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant post-secondary education in office administration or a related field (degree, diploma, or certificate).
