Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team, providing expert maintenance and repair services for a variety of heavy-duty equipment and vehicles. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, hands-on experience with diesel engines, and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical issues efficiently. Duties
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and air brake systems
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, shocks & struts replacement, and wheel alignments
- Repair and fabricate components using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques
- Use schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical systems and mechanical failures
- Operate heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers for maintenance or repair purposes
- Conduct repairs on farm machinery and industrial equipment ensuring optimal performance
- Assist with assembly and disassembly of vehicle components during repairs or upgrades
- Maintain detailed service records and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Perform heavy lifting as required for parts replacement or equipment servicing
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or Service Technician with dealership or heavy equipment background preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, brakes, suspension, and steering components
- Experience working with Caterpillar equipment or similar heavy machinery is advantageous
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical manuals accurately
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic tools
- Familiarity with vehicle maintenance procedures including tire service and wheel alignment
- Knowledge of electrical systems related to automotive diagnostics and repairs
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Strong customer service skills are a plus for roles involving client interaction
