Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team, providing expert maintenance and repair services for a variety of heavy-duty equipment and vehicles. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, hands-on experience with diesel engines, and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical issues efficiently. Duties

  • Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and air brake systems
  • Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, shocks & struts replacement, and wheel alignments
  • Repair and fabricate components using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques
  • Use schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical systems and mechanical failures
  • Operate heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers for maintenance or repair purposes
  • Conduct repairs on farm machinery and industrial equipment ensuring optimal performance
  • Assist with assembly and disassembly of vehicle components during repairs or upgrades
  • Maintain detailed service records and ensure compliance with safety standards
  • Perform heavy lifting as required for parts replacement or equipment servicing

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or Service Technician with dealership or heavy equipment background preferred
  • Strong mechanical knowledge related to diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, brakes, suspension, and steering components
  • Experience working with Caterpillar equipment or similar heavy machinery is advantageous
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical manuals accurately
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic tools
  • Familiarity with vehicle maintenance procedures including tire service and wheel alignment
  • Knowledge of electrical systems related to automotive diagnostics and repairs
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Strong customer service skills are a plus for roles involving client interaction
