This is a full-time, permanent position based out of Carp, Ontario.

About the Role

As a 310T Mechanic at Scott Diesel, you will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of heavy-duty trucks and trailers. You'll play a key role in keeping commercial vehicles on the road—safely, reliably, and efficiently. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and mechanically experienced.

Key Responsibilities

Vehicle Maintenance & Repair

  • Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of commercial trucks and trailers.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic equipment.
  • Repair or replace key components such as engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, and tires.

Preventative Maintenance

  • Conduct regular inspections and scheduled services to prevent breakdowns.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate maintenance and service records.

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure all vehicles meet Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) standards.
  • Follow all workplace safety protocols, including use of PPE.
  • Stay up to date on regulations and best practices for commercial vehicle operations.

Emergency Repairs

  • Respond to on-site or roadside breakdowns as needed.
  • Provide fast, effective diagnostics and repairs to minimize downtime.

Teamwork & Communication

  • Collaborate with operations to schedule maintenance and prioritize repairs.
  • Communicate clearly with drivers and supervisors about vehicle conditions and timelines.

Qualifications

  • Valid 310T Truck and Coach Technician License (Ontario).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working on commercial trucks and trailers.
  • Strong diagnostic, mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repair skills.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Strong commitment to safety and compliance.

Working Conditions

  • Primarily in-shop work with occasional outdoor repairs.
  • Requires physical activity, including lifting and working in various weather conditions.
