Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintaining and repairing diesel engines and related systems. This role requires proficiency in using hand tools and diagnostic equipment, as well as the ability to interpret schematics and perform electrical repairs. The Diesel Mechanic will work on various types of heavy equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards are met.

Duties

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and heavy equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and schematics.
  • Assemble and disassemble components of diesel engines and industrial equipment.
  • Conduct electrical repairs, including wiring and component replacement.
  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs.
  • Operate heavy equipment, including forklifts, cranes, for testing and repair purposes.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all tools are properly stored after use.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role in a dealership or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, electrical systems, and heavy equipment operation.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and schematics for troubleshooting.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills for effective customer service interactions.
  • A valid driver's license may be required based on job responsibilities.
