Summary
The Accounts Payable Clerk (APC) supports the Financial Controller by ensuring vendor invoices are processed accurately and paid in a timely manner. Through strong administrative and clerical expertise, the APC is responsible for verifying, coding, reconciling, and maintaining clear financial records to ensure the organization remains in good standing with vendors and compliant for audit and tax purposes.
Responsibilities
- Receive, review, and process vendor invoices and related documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensure all transactions are coded appropriately and comply with internal financial controls and policies.
- Maintain accurate vendor records and information within the accounting system.
- Prepare payment documentation and assist with the execution of vendor payments.
- Liaise with vendors professionally regarding account inquiries and payment status.
- Support month-end financial processes including reconciliations and journal entries.
- Assist with tracking and allocation of shared or intercompany expenses.
- Maintain company credit card records and support monthly reconciliations.
- Support regulatory and compliance-related remittances and filings.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies with vendors and internal stakeholders as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Sound knowledge of bookkeeping fundamentals and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Strong understanding of financial software and chart of accounts; experience with Sage 50 is an asset.
- Experience working in a multi-company environment is considered an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong time management and ability to prioritize tasks independently.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
