Accounts Payable Clerk

A public company located in downtown Vancouver seeks a motivated Accounts Payable Clerk with a focus on accounts payable functions. The candidate should be a quick learner and self-starter with good problem-solving skills who can communicate effectively with the company's staff, vendors and service providers in order to facilitate the accounts payable process in a timely and efficient manner and all within internal control processes.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Collect invoices, obtain necessary approvals, code and post invoices into accounting system, process payments and maintain financial records of intercompany transactions.
  • Responding to inquiries from vendors and internal staff.
  • Researching and resolving invoice discrepancies and issues.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations
  • Generating periodic reports related to accounts payable
  • Ad hoc projects as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years' experience in full cycle accounting including accounts payable, bank reconciliation and general ledger maintenance.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task daily activities in a fast-paced environment. Committed to meeting deadlines and targets.
  • A team player who can work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office products.
