The Office Manager oversees Accounting/Administrative staff responsible for maintaining workflow, records management, general business administration, accounting functions, financial reporting and internal controls.

**Responsibilities**

**Supervise All Office Activities**:

- Maintains work schedules, ensures proper coverage during absences
- Provides training to new and existing staff as needed
- Oversees cross-training activities, ensures that all positions have a designated backup
- Allocates work among staff to ensures workloads are properly balanced
- Maintain inventory of office supplies and printed materials
- Provide support for the entire office as needed
- Must be a reliable resource for all admin team members

**FINANCIAL REPORTING**
- Oversees month-end closing routine, ensures that transactions are posted, and reports are run within the timelines established by the Controller, Eastern Canada
- Including AP, Freight and other accruals
- Prepares and post journal entries
- Creates and analyzes various financial reports on a regular and ad hoc basis
- Assists with the preparation and analysis of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
- Responds to inquiries from Senior Management regarding financial results and special reporting requests

**AUDIT**
- Liaises with internal and external Auditors
- Coordinates the provision of documents requested by Auditors, ensure that documents are provided in a timely manner
- Responds to queries from auditors related to accounting policies and procedures, coordinates with Controller, Eastern Canada

**GENERAL ACCOUNTING DUTIES**
- Supports Controller with special projects and workflow process improvements (including ERP / IT system enhancements)
- Advises Accounting / Admin staff on the handling of non-routine transactions
- Acts as a back-up to accounting staff by performing data entry, processing of daily Operating reports, invoicing, accounts payable, and other daily tasks.
- Performs other duties as assigned

**EDUCATION**
- University Degree in Accounting, an asset
- College Degree in Accounting, an asset

**LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS**
- CPA Designation, an asset

**YEARS OF EXPERIENCE**
- Minimum 5 years of related experience
- Transportation Industry experience an asset
