**SOCIAL MEDIA AND VOLUNTEER PROGRAM SPECIALIST**
**POSITION OVERVIEW**
Reporting to the Outreach and Development Manager, the Social Media and Volunteer Program Specialist is responsible for: scheduling social media posts in promotion of DBNC’s programs, services, and events; marketing and promotion; visual aid creation; collaborations with partnering organizations and schools for the agency’s placement program; overseeing the volunteer program; and coordinating internal and external events.
**POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES**
General activities and functions include, but are not limited to:
**Social Media and Communications**
- Responsible for posting across agency’s social media channels, including: Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube
- Market and promote agency services that meet the needs for all age groups and diversity of clients
- Ensure branding is consistent across all marketing collateral
- Deliver and coordinate with various media and communication programs
- Maintain all required analytics and reports as required
- Ensure compliance to existing DBNC media, promotion, marketing standards, and policies.
- Assist with DBNC fundraising, non-fundraising, and community events
**Volunteer and Placement Student Program**
- Develop and implement volunteer recruitment strategy to attract and retain a pool of committed agency volunteers for ongoing campaigns and events
- Create materials for orientations and onboarding processes and procedures in accordance to DBNC branding and standards
- Review and update volunteer and placement student job descriptions
- Develop training program for new and existing volunteers
- Recruit new volunteers and placement students and ensure all vulnerable sector requirements are obtained
- Provide orientation and ongoing support to volunteers and placement students
- Maintain relationships with local schools to ensure placement student pipeline is maintained effectively from recruitment through to review process
- Implement and maintain up-to-date volunteer and placement student database and records
- Other duties as assigned
**SKILLS AND QUALITIFICATIONS**
- University Degree or related education, with a minimum two (2) years of volunteer management and social media/communications experience
- A passion for gender, racial, economic, and social justice, along with a commitment to DBNC’s mission, vision, and values
- Knowledge of non-profit fundraising techniques and strategies
- Excellent interpersonal skills, able to interact with all levels in a professional, positive manner
- Able to build trusting relationships and be a team player
- Excellent, effective communication skills, both oral and in written format
- Ability to deliver creative content (text, image, and video)
- Experience collaborating and communicating with external stakeholders
- Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office products, Google analytics, web design, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Hootsuite, Fundraising Databases, and various digital marketing creation websites
- Excellent time and project management, organized, possessing a solid ability to plan and follow up
- Able to multi-task, manage and meet deadlines and adapt easily to change
- Must be a highly motivated self-starter with the ability to establish effective working relationships.
- Ability to work in a changing environment and interest in broadening experience

Part-time hours: 25 per week
**Salary**: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
