_**Job Title**:_ Legislative Assistant
- **Location**:_ Ottawa, Canada
- **Office**:_ Rachel Bendayan, Member of Parliament for Outremont
- **Hours of Work**:_ Full-time. Evening work between Monday and Thursday is often required.

- **Responsibilities**:_
- Conduct research and analysis on legislative and policy issues to support the Member of Parliament and the office team
- Attend parliamentary committee meetings and pre-meetings and prepare notes for the Member of Parliament
- Draft speeches and questions on debate for the House of Commons
- Assist the Member of Parliament in their work with various Ministers’ offices
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including organizations and interest groups
- Respond to inquiries from constituents in a timely and professional manner
- Provide strategic advice to the MP
- Manage the day to day calendar of the Member of Parliament and act as a primary contact and liaison for arranging all meetings
- Responsible for staffing the Member of Parliament at Ottawa events and meetings, as required. As directed, attend meetings on behalf of the Member of Parliament, record meeting notes and conduct all necessary follow up/action items
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Member of Parliament and the office team
- **Qualifications**:_
- Fluency in English and French essential
- Some experience working in a political environment
- Strong knowledge of Canadian politics, government structures, and parliamentary procedures
- Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into concise and understandable briefs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write clearly and persuasively
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn

- **Responsabilités **:_
**Effectuer des recherches et des analyses sur des questions législatives et politiques afin d'appuyer la députée et l'équipe du bureau.**
- Assister aux réunions et aux pré-réunions des comités parlementaires et préparer des notes à l'intention du député.
- Rédiger des discours et des questions sur les débats à la Chambre des communes.
- Assister la députée dans son travail avec les différents cabinets ministériels
- tablir et entretenir des relations avec les parties prenantes, y compris les organisations et les groupes d'intérêt
- Répondre aux demandes de renseignements des électeurs en temps opportun et de manière professionnelle
- Fournir des conseils stratégiques à la députée
- Gérer l'agenda quotidien de la députée et servir de contact principal et de liaison pour l'organisation de toutes les réunions.
- Assurer la présence de la députée lors d'événements et de réunions à Ottawa, le cas échéant. Selon les instructions, assister à des réunions au nom du député, prendre des notes sur la réunion et effectuer tous les suivis nécessaires.
- Effectuer d'autres tâches confiées par la députée et l'équipe du bureau.
- **Qualifications **:_
**Maîtrise du français et de l'anglais indispensable**
- Expérience de travail dans un environnement politique
- Solide connaissance de la politique canadienne, des structures gouvernementales et des procédures parlementaires.
- Excellentes compétences en matière de recherche et d'analyse, avec la capacité de synthétiser des informations complexes dans des notes concises et compréhensibles.
- Excellentes aptitudes à la communication écrite et orale, avec la capacité de rédiger de manière claire et convaincante.
- Solides compétences interpersonnelles, avec la capacité de nouer et d'entretenir des relations.
- Capacité à travailler de manière indépendante, à gérer des priorités multiples et à respecter des délais serrés.
- Maîtrise de Microsoft Office y compris Excel et de Facebook, Instagram, Twitter et LinkedIn.
