We are currently seeking a Local Marketing & Community Specialist to join our team.
The Local Marketing & Community Specialist assists in the execution of the annual local marketing and community investment plan for one, or more, of First West Credit Union’s local brands. Overall, the role is responsible for supporting the successful launch and sustainment of programs and promotions related to the local market, including community events, marketing campaigns, corporate sponsorship planning and activation, locally targeted promotions, as well as the localization of engaging content. This includes tailoring First West programs to leverage local consumer opportunities and insights where appropriate.
**Here’s what would be included as a part of your typical day**
- **Marketing Campaign Activation**:Assists in the rollout of marketing campaigns out to the local market and branch network and assists with the reporting of campaign results. Support with the rollout of any localized aspects of campaigns as applicable.
- **Local Content Development and Distribution**:Supports with the production of localized content including writing, design, etc. and working with other resources as appropriate to produce and deliver.
- **Merchandizing, Branch Experience and Member-Facing Support**:Under the direction of the Local Marketing & Community Investment Manager, maintains merchandizing plans, supports enhancements to the built environment, supports communication to branch champions and the team’s efforts to ensure merchandizing and the branch experience is aligned to plan. Works with member-facing teams to provide material required to support hyperlocal initiatives such as presentations, evites, rack cards, programs ads, etc. Works with the facilities team to support the installation of branch marketing assets such as murals and signage and manages the installation of commercial signage.
- **Sponsorship and Event Support**:Supports the execution of local sponsorship activation. This may include liaising with sponsorship vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, working on site and coordinating volunteers or street teams as needed. Includes liaising with facilities for event needs and may include administrative support such as contract and budget administration.
- **Community Investment**: Working with the community investment and marketing team/leadership, coordinating implementation of community investment initiatives. Supports the Local Marketing & Community Investment Manager to proactively build community investment relationships and participates in the negotiation process as required.
- **Project Management**:When required, lead the development of various marketing or community deliverables, collaborating with the marketing, communications, and community investment teams, as well as other stakeholders and teams across the organization.
- **Vendor Relationship **s **and Premium Inventory**: When required, work with external vendors, suppliers, or agencies to execute on marketing or community investment initiatives. Manages premium inventory including overseeing vendor relationships.
**Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications**
- 2-year diploma (Business, Marketing, Communications) required
- 3 years’ experience in a Coordinator and/or Specialist Marketing or Community Investment role
- Experience with Community Investment/non profit portfolio and event management preferred
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment that often requires multi-tasking and flexibility managing a diverse portfolio of projects and tasks
- A natural ability to build positive, productive relationships with team members and management, and a natural curiosity and positive, solution-focused, problem-solving attitude that can take feedback well and respond to stakeholders’ needs
- Introductory knowledge of digital content development and social media, including post boosting and advertising, media buying and media strategy, as well as a keen interest in measurement
- An aptitude for excellent communication including copywriting, public speaking, internal communication to support program execution, as well as relationship building with key community stakeholders
- Knowledge of all phases of consumer promotionsideation, conception, development, and commercialization
- Event and project management skills
- Strong initiative and results orientation
- Effective influencing, presentation, problem solving, decision-making, and organizational skills
- Collaboration and consultative approach
- Strong data and research skills
- Intermediate skills in using Adobe Creative suite or Figma
- Basic design and layout skills, and content marketing knowledge
- Ability to effectively write both marketing and communications related copy
- Displays an understanding of risk and risk ownership by being able to demonstrate adherence to policies and procedures.
