Are you detail oriented, organised and committed to providing excellent library service? Port Moody Public Library has an exciting regular, full-time opportunity for an Administrative Assistant to join our team.

Reporting to the Director of Library Services, this role provides confidential administrative support to library management and the Board of Trustees. The Administrative Assistant also offers frontline customer service to patrons, assisting with checking in and out library material as needed.

**Responsibilities**
- Provide confidential administrative assistance to the Director of Library Services and Board of Trustees
- Support office/administrative services. For example: processes requests for office supplies, furniture, and repairs to the facility; obtains price information; codes invoices; prepares cheque requisitions; processes payments; and helps maintain the records management system.
- Create a variety of public facing promotional materials such as newspaper advertisements, posters, brochures, and reports.
- Help organize meetings and events, as well as take minutes as needed
- Liaise with city personnel and vendors as required
- Maintain the content of the library board’s section of the website
- Participate in petty cash handing and daily cash reconciliation
- Collect and record library statistics for monthly and annual reports
- Provide frontline customer service to patrons in a Circulation Assistant role as needed
- Provide information to patrons regarding charges to their accounts related to the collection agency

**Basic Qualifications**
- Three to five years of job-related experience
- Secondary school graduation (Grade 12), and six to twelve months of administrative-related courses
- Experience creating a variety of promotional publications
- Computer skills including Word, Excel, Publisher, and Adobe In-Design
- Experience with records management and booking systems
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Experience with budgets, cash handling, and reconciliation
- Knowledge of an integrated library system, CMS, booking systems, and website maintenance
