**Manager, Human Resources & Payroll**
As part of our continued expansion, we are looking for a manager to join our Human Resources Team located in Montreal, Quebec.
The HR & Payroll Manager (M1-G6) will oversee a wide range of HR functions, office management, employee relations, and global payroll administration, ensuring smooth daily operations and compliance with local regulations and company policies. This role will also manage a small team, including one HR Business Partner based in the USA, and one Payroll Clerk based in Montreal.
**The Role**
**As a HR & Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for**:
**Payroll & Compensation**:
- Managing end-to-end payroll processing for Canada, and the USA, along with other global payrolls in Europe and Asia, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local regulations and industry standards.
- Collaborating with payroll vendors to ensure timely payroll disbursement and accurate reporting.
- Leading special projects related to payroll systems and vendor management, including evaluating and potentially transitioning to new payroll providers.
- Overseeing benefits administration, including health insurance, leave policies, and employee perks for your regions.
- Working closely with finance and accounting teams to ensure proper payroll reporting and timely payments.
**Employee Relations**:
- Acting as a key point of contact for employee relations, addressing workplace issues and resolving conflicts promptly and professionally.
- Assisting in conducting investigations related to employee complaints, disciplinary actions, and terminations, ensuring compliance with legal and company guidelines.
- Ensuring compliance with employment laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies across all HR functions.
**Talent Acquisition and Onboarding**:
- Partnering with the recruitment team, and department heads to assist in the recruitment of top talent and manage smooth onboarding processes.
**Performance Management**:
- Supporting the performance review process and assist managers with queries that arise.
**Payroll & Compensation**:
- Managing end-to-end payroll processing for India, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local regulations and industry standards.
- Collaborating with payroll vendors to ensure timely payroll disbursement and accurate reporting.
- Overseeing benefits administration, including health insurance, leave policies, and employee perks
- Working closely with finance and accounting teams to ensure proper payroll reporting and timely payments.
**Corporate Medical Insurance Coordination**:
- Liaising with insurance brokers and global third-party administrators (TPAs) to manage corporate medical insurance, including handling new additions, leavers, endorsement lists, and invoice reconciliations.
**Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation, or an equivalent global payroll certification required.
- 8+ years of experience in HR & Payroll operations.
- Experience with Ceridian PowerPay, TriNet, and BambooHR preferred.
- Strong understanding of Canada and USA labor laws, employment regulations, and HR best practices.
- Experience working with global technology companies including recruitment for technical positions.
- Experience in assisting with employee relations investigations and resolving workplace conflicts.
- Experience working with payroll vendors, managing payroll systems and implementing new systems.
- Strong organizational and communication skills to manage diverse responsibilities.
