**The opportunity**:
The primary responsibility of this position is to assist with student selections for various student programs within Ongomiizwin.

The incumbent will work with the hospital Chiefs of Staff and the Medical Director to enhance and advance various educational programming within Ongomiizwin.

The incumbent will independently coordinate, create, schedule, update and maintain all student-based travel, transportation and accommodations for summer students, elective students and non-physician students travelling to various Northern/remote communities. This will involve being proficient in their use of Entrada, QGenda and Concur.

The incumbent is independent in their responsibility of handling inquiries from internal and external partners and students about the function of the student programs within Ongomiizwin.

The incumbent is independent in their responsibility for relaying pertinent information to the management team including Chiefs of Staff and the Medical Director, as well as to students within the program.

The incumbent is independent in their responsibility for preparing, updating, maintaining and administrating accurate student schedules. This shall include, but is not limited to preparing, updating and maintaining student clinical practice schedules, and coordinating corresponding travel, transportation and accommodations.

The incumbent is also responsible for providing administrative support to the Medical Director - Ongomiizwin Health Services. This shall include, but is not limited to ensuring all clinicians contracted with Ongomiizwin Health Services have NIL appointed salaries, tracking this information as appropriate, and completing necessary forms/documents to facilitate the process.

The incumbent shall also schedule Clinician performance reviews with the Medical Director.

The incumbent shall also provide administrative support to various committees under the direction of the Medical Director - Ongomiizwin Health Services.

**The qualifications and experience we’re looking for**:

- Completion of a formal training program in a related discipline from a recognized institute is required.
- Four years of directly related secretarial and administrative experience in a healthcare setting is required.
- Experience working in a First Nations, Métis and/or Inuit Healthcare setting is required.
- Experience working with Clinicians is required.
- Experience coordinating schedules and booking travel, transportation and accommodations is required.
- Experience creating and coordinating multiple schedules is required.
- Experience using Concur or other travel booking systems is required.
- Experience using QGenda or other scheduling systems is required.
- Experience writing routine correspondence is required.
- Experience with public relations and marketing practices is required.
- An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Knowledge of University regulations, programs and procedures, especially as they relate to the Section of First Nations, Métis and Inuit is required.
- Knowledge of the Northern Manitoba and Indigenous culture is required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills are required.
- Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written, are required.
- Must have excellent spelling and grammar skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and work with confidential material is required.
- Must have strong time-management, prioritization and organizational skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure with competing priorities and deadlines is required.
- Ability to work independently with analytical reasoning and problem solving skills is required.
- Ability to process large numbers of documents with speed, accuracy and attention to detail in order to meet strict deadlines is required.
