The Department of Education and Early Childhood Learning is seeking qualified individuals for the role of Coordinator, Student Services Unit with the Inclusion Support Branch.

Conditions of Employment:

- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Must have a satisfactory Criminal Record Check (including Vulnerable Sector Check) and Child Abuse Registry Check
- Must have the ability to travel within Manitoba and Canada
- Must have a valid Manitoba Teacher’s or School Clinician’s Certificate

Qualifications:
**Essential**:

- Post-secondary degree in a field related to policy analysis, education and/or technical vocational education
- High degree of specialized current knowledge, skills and experience related to the delivery of student services, philosophy of inclusion in Manitoba schools, and provincial Standards for Appropriate Educational Programming
- Leadership experience demonstrated through collaboration in supporting a team of professionals
- Highly developed interpersonal skills including the ability to gain the respect/cooperation of a broad range of department staff, as well as committees, school administrators, professional personnel, and stakeholders in the larger educational community
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to draft original materials for use by senior officials, written in a clear and concise manner
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage a variety of complex projects with short timelines
- Highly developed political acumen for navigating sensitive and confidential issues
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills including a demonstrated ability to think creatively and innovatively
- Excellent organizational and time management skills and experience working under pressure, managing multiple priorities in tight timelines

**Desired**
- Master’s in Education or related field or equivalent
- Financial management experience

**Duties**:
This Coordinator is accountable for the operation of the Student Services Unit in respect to staffing, work assignments, and resources. This position is required to oversee a large provincial program mandate including, but not limited to, school clinician supervision, mental health supports for students, Deaf/hard of hearing services for students, student services consultative and policy supports for students with diverse learning needs, and implementation/oversight of the Standards for Appropriate Educational Programming.
