Undergraduate Medicine is one of ten programs within the Education Portfolio in the Dean’s Office at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry. The Doctor of Medicine (MD) program is a four year program which qualifies students for the MD degree. The Undergraduate Medical Education Program coordinates all aspects of the MD program. The MD curriculum is delivered across multiple communities in south-western Ontario, including the city of Windsor. The Undergraduate Medical Education Program strives to deliver quality education and service by ensuring an open and friendly environment for faculty, staff and students exists. Required to uphold a team philosophy; sharing and collaborating with staff throughout the Dean's Office and the Schulich Windsor Program is essential. **Responsibilities**: The Program Coordinator provides ongoing critical leadership for the administration of the Clinical Medical Education programs in UME through oversight of the Fourth Year Clinical Electives Program, Domestic Visiting Electives Program, International Visiting Electives Program, and Global Health Electives Program. The role is also responsible for the supervision of the program assistant of these programs. In addition, the role is also the administrator of the Clinical Clerkship Program, the third year of training in the four-year MD program (Clerkship is a 52-week clinical training program where medical students (trainees/clerks) are placed at hospital teaching sites in London, Windsor and across South-western Ontario). **Qualifications**: - Education: - University degree (preferably in an educational or healthcare field) - Experience: - 5 years of experience in a university or academic environment within a medical education setting - 3 years of management experience with an understanding of undergraduate medical education program requirements - Knowledge of distance education models and experience working within a learning management system (LMS) and with One45 is preferred - Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: - Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop shared vision to lead employees to excellence - Strong relationship management, influencing and collaboration skills - Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage activities both for self and others effectively - Results-oriented with an ability to handle many tasks and maintain a high level of individual and team performance - Excellent verbal and written communication skills and confidence dealing with all levels of an organization - Well-developed presentation and public speaking skills - Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with strict deadlines - Ability to work in a fluid and challenging work environment with changing deadlines - Ability to provide solutions by using imaginative approaches where constructive thinking and innovation are required - Attention to detail with an ability to retrieve, analyze and synthesize sizable amounts of data, while ensuring that information is accurate and comprehensive - Proven ability and natural inclination to develop relationships by interacting with people in a professional, respectful and diplomatic manner **Western Values Diversity**: **Please Note**: Effective September 7, 2021, all employees and visitors to campus are required to comply with Western's COVID-19 Vaccination Policy.
