Our vision is for students to discover and build upon their strengths, engage in classroom and community learning, and learn to navigate failure in order to thrive. **Responsibilities**: **Purpose of the Role**: Western University is a destination of choice for high-performing students, and we aim to ensure our program offerings respond effectively to the current and future needs of our students. The Program Coordinator will support the administrative, financial and logístical functions of programs within the Leadership & Learning pillar. The role will support the development and implementation of strategies for program initiatives, and ensure the successful implementation of all aspects of the pillar’s programs and services. The Program Coordinator will collaborate to develop communications and marketing materials and strategies aimed at enhancing the reputation and awareness of the programs. The role will also support the continuous improvement, and expansion of program offerings. **Key Accountabilities**: - Participates in developing strategies related to new and existing program initiatives, and ensures the successful implementation of all aspects of the pillar’s programs and services - Supports unit leaders with the alignment of resources to best support the achievement of program objectives - Provides a consistent point of contact for interpretation and information regarding policies, procedures and processes related to the program - Supports the implementation of Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS) recommendations in all pillar programming - Implements principles of Universal Design for Learning in in-person and virtual programming (e.g., addition of closed captioning for online presentations; physical room layout for in-person workshops) - Researches and recommends technology, approaches and products that meet program goals - Identifies, implements and evaluates best practices on service standards to cultivate a positive, service-oriented experience for all stakeholders, under the supervision of the Operations Manager, Leadership & Learning - Serves as Western’s Co-Curricular Record (WCCR) validator for student participation in all eligible pillar activities - Develops, integrates and disseminates information relevant to campus community partners (e.g., current events, new initiatives, partnership opportunities, and internal policy/process clarification) and customizes messages and delivery strategy (e.g., e - mail, phone, social media., etc.) appropriately - Develops and monitors online communities through social media (e.g., Facebook, LiveChat), responding to challenges (e.g., negative posts) independently, or in collaboration with leaders, as appropriate - Develops and coordinates content and distributes regular electronic communications (e.g., newsletters) - Participates in hiring, training, and coaching work study students and volunteers within Leadership & Learning - Provides support in maintaining program-level budgets, tracking expenditures and approving expenditures according to the budget plan (approximately $2,000 - 16,000.00 per program, annually) - Supports the unit leaders with the facilitation of on-going program processes within Western Connect and other technology systems, in collaboration with the Systems Administrator - Supports the collection of data and reporting on outcomes for signature programs to senior leaders, campus stakeholders, and relevant external partner
