**Job Summary**
Wings of Hope for Africa Foundation is a registered charity that has empowered low-income families and newcomers since 2011. One of our core initiatives is the Community Upliftment food security and Beyond a Cultural Food Bank, which provides culturally appropriate food to families in need, ensuring dignity and inclusivity in food security. Through strategic partnerships and community outreach, we aim to promote food accessibility that reflects the diversity of our community.

We are looking for a Food Program Coordinator to lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of our food programs. This role ensures smooth operations, volunteer engagement, community outreach, and effective partnerships to meet the unique needs of those we serve.

Position Summary:
The Food Program Coordinator will manage the day-to-day operations of our Cultural Food Bank and support community outreach efforts. This position will oversee program logistics, coordinate volunteers, and build partnerships to secure resources. Additionally, the coordinator will ensure that culturally appropriate food items are sourced, distributed, and aligned with the needs of the community.

**Responsibilities**

Program Management:

- Oversee the operations of the Cultural Food Bank, including food procurement, storage, and distribution.
- Manage the scheduling of food distribution days and ensure smooth client service.
- Monitor inventory and ensure culturally appropriate food items are stocked to meet community needs.
- Maintain compliance with health, safety, and food handling regulations.

Volunteer Coordination:

- Recruit, train, and schedule volunteers to support the food program’s activities.
- Provide leadership and guidance to volunteers, fostering a positive and inclusive environment.
- Track volunteer hours and recognize contributions to boost engagement.

Community Outreach and Partnerships:

- Establish and maintain partnerships with local organizations and food suppliers to enhance food accessibility.
- Collaborate with community groups to understand cultural food preferences and needs.
- Represent Wings of Hope for Africa at events, community meetings, and networking opportunities.

Administrative Duties:

- Develop and maintain program reports, including inventory tracking, program outcomes, and community impact.
- Coordinate with funders and partners to ensure proper documentation and reporting.
- Assist with fundraising and grant writing efforts to support the food program.

Communication and Engagement:

- Promote the program through newsletters, and community channels to raise awareness.
- Gather feedback from program participants to improve services and address emerging needs.
- Collaborate with the Wings of Hope team to align the food program with the organization’s mission and events.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $15.81 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
