**What you can expect from this position**:
Reporting to the Manager, Deicing Operations, this position facilitates the safe and expeditious movement of aircraft and airport traffic on and through Deicing facilities operated by the GTAA by locating and identifying aircraft that require Deicing, parking and/or transiting through the facility. This position is also responsible for the planning and assignment of resources, including equipment and manpower, maximizing facility utilization in a live aircraft environment.

**As a Deicing Movement Coordinator, you will**:

- Organize and manage movements through direct instructions to pilots, tows, helicopters and various vehicles and providing advisory information to pilots ensuring aircraft remain clear of one another
- Compile written and electronic data, documentation of aircraft movements, deicing information, and other pertinent matters affecting deicing and airport operations
- Manage the safe and expeditious flow of aircraft into, through and exiting deicing facilities operated by the GTAA to ensure adherence to airport traffic flow
- Conduct on the job training, providing instruction, guidance, assessment and feedback of the quality of work
- Oversee trainee’s actions and preparing training reports and debriefings
- Operate computer equipment as required, message boards, cameras and all related visual equipment
- Direct and be responsible for all deicing operations within the assigned bays
- Operate Bay Management Software and be responsible for all bay assignment for aircraft coming to the Central Deicing Facility, during deicing operations
- Communicate with all other Icehouse personnel, airlines and all related outside Agencies as required
- Coach and identify training as required and undergoing recurrent training as required
- Generate and maintain record logs, written and automated
- Conduct visual quality control audits on deicing operation
- Communicate anomalies, incidents and emergencies to pad operators and cab staff as required
- Perform security Escort duties as required in non-deicing periods at the airport
- Lead and participate in the development and implementation of training and operational plans, programs, enhancements and efficiency improvements to maximize facility and resource utilization and safety

This unionized position is classified at the Band 7 level, with an hourly wage range of $45.97, based on a 40 hour work week. As part of the recruitment process, you will be required to complete a test.

**This is the role for you, if you have**:

- 3 years’ experience in airport or airline operations
- Demonstrated experience in the provision of Apron Advisory Services, ATC, FSS, Flight Dispatch or flying experience would be a distinct asset
- Experience in aircraft deicing operations is preferred
- Experience in writing reports is a distinct asset
- Valid Transport Canada Aeronautical Restricted Radio Operator Permit
- Valid provincial G class Driver’s License
- Ability to obtain and maintain a D/A class AVOP permit within thirty (30) days of appointment to the position
- Ability to successfully complete (annual) Deicing Movement Controller and Aircraft Deicing Specialist training and qualifications
- Ability to obtain and retain a Transport Security Clearance
- Post-secondary school Diploma or Degree or equivalent industry experience

**Knowledge and skills you bring, that set you up for success**:

- Knowledge of the rules, procedures, techniques and equipment (MLAT, EXCDS, NARDS, BMS, ADCS)
- Detailed knowledge of Toronto Pearson airside topography and layout (aprons, taxiways, runways, terminals) runway taxiway combinations used by Air Traffic Control
- Specific knowledge of the Ground Deicing Operations Program
- Knowledge of aircraft operations, aerodynamics and the principles of flight
- Knowledge of the operating characteristics, dimensions, capacities and turning radius of aircraft
- Specific knowledge of Transport Canada regulations related aircraft movement and ground deic
