**What can you expect from this position?**

Reporting to the Director, Deicing Operations, the **Manager, Deicing Operations Maintenance** is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and peak performance of all assets at Toronto Pearson’s Central Deicing Facility (CDF). With a focus on innovation, customer service, and continuous improvement, this role oversees the preventative maintenance and repair of specialized deicing vehicles, light to heavy equipment, and facility infrastructure. The Manager coordinates maintenance activities with internal teams and external contractors, ensuring full compliance with safety and regulatory standards. This position also manages maintenance budgets, leads team training and development, and drives emergency response planning for critical equipment failures. Data-driven and solution-oriented, the Manager regularly reports on asset performance and operational enhancements to support GTAA’s world-class winter operations.

**As**Manager, Deicing Operations Maintenance,**you will**:

- Lead the planning, organization, and direction of maintenance operations to ensure optimal performance of GTAA’s Central Deicing Facility (CDF), maximizing efficiency across personnel, equipment, and infrastructure.
- Oversee the lifecycle management of the deicing fleet and assets, including lifecycle and utilization analysis to determine optimal fleet size, replacement cycles, and capital planning.
- Develop and manage a proactive, risk-based preventative maintenance program for all CDF assets, including specialized deicing equipment, vehicles, and facility systems.
- Ensure regulatory compliance through maintenance of environmental systems such as bulk oil tanks, waste storage, and oil-water separators.
- Use data and analytics to drive operational decision-making, identify maintenance trends, and inform both short
- and long-term strategy.
- Manage budgets and resources effectively, aligning maintenance activities with GTAA’s strategic priorities and ensuring cost-effective operations.
- Lead vendor and supplier relationships for parts, inventory, and contracted maintenance services, ensuring service quality and accountability.
- Foster a high-performance team culture by providing training, coaching, and ongoing feedback to support professional development and team success.
- Promote innovation and continuous improvement by encouraging creative problem-solving and adopting industry-leading maintenance technologies and practices.
- Build strong relationships with internal teams, external stakeholders, and customers to ensure alignment, trust, and seamless operational delivery.

**This is the role for you, if you have**:

- A post-secondary degree or a combination of education and relevant experience.
- 5+ years of experience in Fleet Management and Equipment Maintenance including heavy equipment.
- 3+ years of leadership experience in a unionized environment.
- Strong focus on data/metrics, including a solid knowledge of Key Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreements to achieve compliance.
- Proven leadership and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of making sound, data-driven decisions that align with long-term strategic goals and improve operational performance.
- Strong technical and analytical skills, including the ability to manage complex maintenance programs, optimize fleet availability, and use Microsoft tools to support planning and reporting.
- Excellent time management and communication skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities, lead cross-functional teams, and deliver exceptional service to both internal and external stakeholders.
