**Your Opportunity**
Reporting to the Senior Accountant & Budget Coordinator, this role supports full-cycle payroll activities, including time and attendance validation, earnings and deductions, statutory remittances, and year-end reporting. The Payroll & Benefits Coordinator is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees, ensuring compliance with legislative and organizational standards.
- Process bi-weekly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable legislation
- Validate and reconcile time and attendance data prior to payroll submission
- Administer statutory deductions, garnishments, and other payroll-related adjustments
- Prepare and submit government remittances and year-end documentation (e.g., T4s)
- Maintain payroll records and documentation in accordance with company policies and legal requirements
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and related matters
- Support audits and internal reviews by providing payroll data and documentation
- Coordinate benefits-related payroll deductions, including group health, dental, life insurance, and other employee programs
- Administer pension contributions, ensuring accurate deductions and remittances to applicable plans (e.g., defined contribution or group RRSP)
**Your Qualifications**
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of hands-on experience in payroll administration, preferably in a mid to large sized organization.
- Experience processing full-cycle payroll, including statutory remittances and year-end reporting.
- Proficiency in payroll systems such as ADP, Ceridian Dayforce, or equivalent.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP), Word, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with time and attendance systems and their integration with payroll platforms.
- Understanding of federal and provincial employment standards, tax regulations, and statutory deductions.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform payroll audits and reconcile data.
- Ability to generate and interpret payroll reports and maintain accurate records.
- Commitment to confidentiality and data privacy principles.
