**Position Summary**

The Payroll and Benefits Administrator is responsible for processing the biweekly payroll in Canada for two entities, responding to all payroll related inquiries from employees and other relevant parties, as well as administering the company’s benefits programs in Canada. Additionally, this position is also responsible for providing back-up on the payroll and benefits administration in the United States.

Core responsibilities will include the following areas:

- Prepare and process full cycle hourly and salary bi-weekly payrolls, including off-cycle bonus or commission runs, and related HRIS / timecard administration relating to new hires, benefit or employee related changes, and terminations for both Canadian and US companies in the group.
- Create, modify, analyze, and distribute standard and ad-hoc payroll / benefit reports.
- Administer the company’s Canadian benefits program, including new hire enrolments, employee changes, billing inquiries, invoice reconciliations and claims / cost reporting.
- Assist with year-end processing including any necessary adjustments and T4 preparation.
- Assist with answering payroll questions and providing excellent customer service and guidance to employees on payroll and benefit related issues.
- Maintain payroll and benefit systems and personnel files to ensure the accuracy and integrity of all files and payroll data.
- Assist with reviewing, updating and improving processes for the payroll team.
- Various other duties as required.

**Position Requirements**

Requirements/Qualifications include:

- Minimum of 3-5 years progressive payroll experience. Experience with Payworks’ Payroll Solution is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in pension and benefits administration.
- Payroll certification is an asset.
- Proven aptitude for detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of relevant federal and provincial statutes and regulations.
- Experience with large volume payroll processing in a multi-province environment.
- Customer centric attitude and mindset with strong communication skills.
- Experience processing US payroll is ideal.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Trustworthy and ability to remain impartial while upholding strict confidentiality.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year

**Experience**:
