The Alberta University of the Arts (AUArts) is looking for a Facilities Assistant to support Campus Operations.
The Alberta University of the Arts is one of only four major art, craft and design focused Universities in Canada. Our internationally recognized programs and state-of-the-art facilities offer our 1,100 students a hands-on, studio-based education that leads to a Bachelor of Fine Arts, a Bachelor of Design, and an MFA in Craft Media. AUArts has deep roots in Calgary’s creative community and our alumni have had an impact on creativity around the world. Alberta University of the Arts will be celebrating its centennial in 2026.
Hours of work will be 35 hours per week from June 2025 until August 29, 2025 under the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) initiative, a Youth Employment and Skills Strategy, which aims to provide quality summer employment opportunities for youth to develop skills and gain paid work experience to successfully transition into the labour market. - Be aged between 15 and 30 years old on the start date of the job;
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN); and
- Be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada, or a person who has been granted refugee status in Canada.

International students and other temporary residents of Canada are not eligible.

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed space audits of all university rooms, including taking accurate measurements and documenting space usage.
- Inventory room contents and identify equipment suitable for the preventive maintenance program.
- Update AUArts PDF floor plans as needed to reflect current room layouts and usage, time permitting.

- Minimum Grade 12 Education
- Demonstrated organization and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and effectively in cooperation with faculty and students in a team environment
- Demonstrated customer service skills

This position pays an hourly rate of $20.00 plus 6% pay in lieu of vacation.
