**Job Overview**
As a Wildlife Rehabilitator, you will play a crucial role in the care and rehabilitation of injured, sick, or orphaned wildlife. This position requires a deep passion for animal welfare and the ability to work with various species in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for assisting to provide treatment, proper nutrition, and a safe environment for wildlife until they are ready to be released back into their natural habitat.

**Duties**
- Patient food preparation
- Cleaning cages, site, facility, laundry etc
- Husbandry
- Observe and assist with medical exams, treatment, and lab work under the supervision of the Senior wildlife rehabbers, lead veterinarian and veterinary technician.
- Assist with treatment and care to patients as directed by senior staff.
- Communicate with the public/veterinary clinics regarding wildlife concerns and transfers of animals to the centre
- Work with volunteers for wildlife care and rescues
- Maintain records

**Requirements**:
**Must be between 18-30 years of age to qualify for the Canada Summer Grants program**
- Applicants must have relevant work experience or schooling related to either wildlife rehabilitation, animal welfare, husbandry, vet medicine, zoology, biology, conservation and other relevant disciplines.
- Experience in animal care or rehabilitation is highly desirable.
- Strong observational skills
- Ability to handle various species safely and humanely.
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of local wildlife laws and regulations is beneficial.
- Physical stamina to perform tasks that may involve lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends or holidays as needed.
- Rabies vaccinated or willing to obtain vaccination (proof of vaccination and titre value required)
- Strong work ethic, dependable, honest, able to problem solve
- Work well as a team as well as under mínimal supervision
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal English) and professional telephone etiquette
- Ability to work under pressure and multi-task

Must be available to work days, evenings and weekends. Calgary Wildlife is open 365 days/year.
