**Position Overview**:
This is a full-time, on-site position for 35 hours per week over a period of 8 weeks.
**Canada Summer Jobs applicant eligibility**:The applicant must be**:

- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period.
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment.
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

**Note**: International students and other temporary residents of Canada are not eligible.
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assist with financial reporting by helping prepare monthly and annual financial statements and reports.
- Support accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice entry, payment tracking, and receipting.
- Contribute to budget preparation by compiling data, tracking expenditures, and generating budget-to-actual comparison reports.
- Perform basic bookkeeping tasks such as data entry, ledger maintenance, and account reconciliation.
- Assist in audits and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal and external financial standards.
- Monitor and track expenses to support effective cash flow management and financial planning.
- Provide administrative support to the finance team, including organizing financial documents and maintaining accurate records.

**Qualifications and Skills**:
Education
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a post-secondary program in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field is preferred.

Experience
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel and Word.
- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks or Sage is considered an asset.

**Attributes and Core Competencies**:

- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial practices.
- Comfortable working with data, with attention to accuracy and detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with a willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a professional office setting.
