About the Role


This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as an HVAC Controls Systems Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting preventive maintenance, repair, installation, and general servicing of HVAC controls systems.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Diagnose and repair control systems malfunctions with knowledge of electronic or digital controls systems.
  • Manage assigned work to meet professional and efficient execution of time and customer satisfaction. Report problems or changes to management immediately.
  • Communicate with customers upon arrival and before leaving the work site. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction. Meet regularly with customers to become familiar with operating problems. Keep customers informed on the nature of service provided, outstanding issues and recommend system enhancements, upgrades, and replacements. Promote the sale of add-on work.
  • Adhere to all Johnson Controls and customer safety standards. Provide safety awareness while working onsite with Johnson Controls subcontractors.
  • Conduct extensive self-study (reading, research and practice) to improve and maintain technical proficiency in the company's product lines. Complete certifications as required by the company.
  • Other duties related to installing, commissioning and servicing building controls facilities management systems and energy management systems, as assigned.
  • Assist in the development and testing of software programs necessary to operate the system per the intent of the project requirements.
  • Select, order, and track the delivery of materials for assigned projects. Coordinate factory-mounting processes to meet factory and project schedule.
  • Assist in loading and commissioning all system and network-level controllers as required.
  • Assist in validating complete system functionality and troubleshoot problems with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation.
  • Keep management, direct supervisor, and customer informed of job progress and issues.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for Emergency Service.

This role offers a competitive salary of approximately $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience. Requirements


To be successful in this role, you should have a vocational school graduate or an Associate's degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning or similar field. Alternatively, two years' experience in servicing HVAC electronics and/or mechanical systems can offset your degree requirement. You must possess effective interpersonal skills to represent the company to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner.


You will need to demonstrate the ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people. Experience understanding computer programming and software applications is also beneficial. In addition, you must be able to obtain Government Reliability or Secret Security Clearance to service our government-based clients. Three to Five years of increasingly responsible experience in installing and/or servicing electronic control and HVAC equipment is preferred.
