Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Highly Skilled HVAC Systems Technician to join our Real Property Planning and Management Branch in Ottawa. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing complex HVAC systems in various facilities across the National Capital Region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks on chillers, air handling units, fan coils, and packaged air conditioning systems;
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with building automation systems and control systems, including Direct Digital Controls, Programmable Logic Controllers, and Variable Frequency Drives;
  • Install and commission new HVAC equipment and systems;
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and ensure compliance with government regulations and safety standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A valid Ontario 313A-Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic or equivalent Inter-Provincial Red Seal Journeymen's Certificate of Qualification;
  • Significant experience in servicing, installing, and troubleshooting refrigeration and air conditioning systems and components;
  • Experience with building automation systems, control systems, and energy management systems;
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently;
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
