Job Description:

As a Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Service Mechanic Apprentice, you will work with our experienced professionals to develop your skills in HVAC mechanical equipment and controls. You will participate in certified training through our Service Technical Academy, which will equip you with the knowledge and tools needed to succeed in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • You will be trained to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and customer needs.
  • You will communicate job progress and issues to JCI, contractors, and customers as needed.
  • You will meet attendance requirements for required Union training.
  • You will provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facilities are running efficiently.
  • You will provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.

Requirements:

  • This is a Union position; you must already be on the UA787 active apprentice list.
  • You should have 1+ years of industry experience or experience in servicing mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.
  • You should have generally required knowledge including mechanical HVAC systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation, and servicing techniques.
  • You should have effective interpersonal skills to represent Johnson Controls to customers and other outside contacts.
  • You should have leadership skills to support Mechanics working on non-complex, non-critical mechanical HVAC equipment on a job site.
  • You should be a self-starter who can eventually work independently.
  • You should prioritize safety in all forms.
  • You should have a valid driver's license.
  • You may be required to be on-call.
