About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Lead, Volunteer Engagement to join our team at United Way of the Alberta Capital Region. As a key member of our Customer Care team, you will play a critical role in leading strategic volunteer engagement initiatives that elevate the volunteer experience and drive community impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement volunteer engagement strategies that align with our organizational goals and objectives.
  • Lead the management and coordination of United Way's Poverty Simulations, ensuring a high-quality experience for participants and volunteers.
  • Support the growth and development of United Way's Cabinets, including event planning, communications, and volunteer recruitment and management.
  • Deliver the Mentoring for Success program, recruiting and coordinating volunteers to support the program's objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to highlight United Way's volunteer engagement activities and enhance brand awareness through community events and volunteer fairs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including volunteers, community partners, and internal teams.
  • Provide administrative support for annual Cabinet recruitment strategies and maintain accurate records and reports.
About You

We are looking for a skilled relationship builder with experience in volunteer engagement, program management, and community development. You should have a strong understanding of the non-profit sector and a passion for creating meaningful experiences for volunteers and community members.

You will be a strategic thinker with excellent communication and project management skills, able to work independently and as part of a team. A post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field, combined with a minimum of two to three years of experience in a similar role, is required.

A valid driver's license and vehicle are required for occasional travel within Edmonton and the surrounding area. You will be required to work some evenings or early mornings, as needed.
